Gur’s Story

Gurminder “Gur” Thind is a former Canadian football guard for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. He attended the University of South Carolina and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management.

He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks, where he attained the Palmetto Heartland Award for his outstanding work ethic in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.


He went on to attain his Master’s of Science in Exercise Sports Science and Higher Education from Texas Tech University. Gur is a USAW Level 1 Certified as well as a member of the National Association of Speed and Explosion (NASE).

Prior to owning Performance Evolution, Gur was a Sports Performance Director at Velocity Sports Performance and an Assistant Strength Coach with Texas Tech University.

As the creator of Performance Evolution and a passionate personal trainer, Gur’s mission is to evolve your performance and bring your fitness to a level that you have always imagined. He currently resides in Greenville with his family.

Our Philosophy

Coach Gur's Personal training and collegiate football experience may be highly valuable to athletes, but that doesn't mean that gur only wants to train athletes. Coach Gur's goal is to provide Greenville with the best gym and personal training experience for ANYONE who wants to see their fitness goals reached.


Most fitness coaches and personal trainers get immense satisfaction from seeing those they train achieve their goals, Coach Gur is no exception and loves seeing people smash those goals and reap the benefits of personal training.
